YouTube video: USS Yorktown (CV-10)
USS Yorktown (CV/CVS-10) was an Essex-class aircraft carrier of the United States Navy, and is now a museum ship at Patriot's Point , Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.
The first Yorktown was a 16-gun ship sloop commissioned in 1840 that sunk in 1850 after hitting a reef in the Cape Verde islands.
The second Yorktown was a gunboat, launched in 1888, commissioned in 1889 and decommissioned in 1921.
The third Yorktown (CV-5) was an aircraft carrier commissioned in 1937, and a major combatant in World War II until she was sunk at the Battle of Midway in 1942.
I have a great family. They are all liberals but they don’t spout the party line. They are willing to listen to my point of view on the issues. However, there are times I avoid having political discussions with them.
